"Secret Beyond the Door" is a Freudian thriller from Fritz Lang. Celia is lovely and stylishly groomed in this shocker about a woman whose husband, an architect, collects rooms where famous murders have occurred. One of the doors of those rooms always remains locked. Although unsuccessful take on Hitchcock, Lang makes a pastiche by taking fairy tale tropes and melds them with modern science. The very architecturallity of Secret, makes it extremely uncanny, showing that house servers as as stage of representations of haunting, doubling, dismembering - almost same as the process of exhibition making.
