SIMON GYSEL

Zürich

Hand made, calm, careful, conscientious, a single line, many dots, strange shapes, depict details of everyday and dream of what is.

With borders created to ponder, absorb and ease into reality, Simon's long and precise sketches, act as a cathartic connection with the present. One day of backpacks, one day of shoes, one day of leaves, one day of gestures.  Particulars filtrate through chaos which composes everyday life. Meditative states are achieved by slowing down, shifting focus and seeing the world differently.

Simon graduated in Architecture from BFH (Berner Fachhochschule) and ZHAW (Zurich University of Applied Sciences) in Winterthur. He also made architectural study abroad at the University of the Arts in Berlin, Tongji University Shanghai and Chiba University Japan. His works have been exhibited in Bern, Zürich, and Neuchâtel and work published in Lasso Magazine and Zalle.
