Jyrgen Ueberschär

Zürich

Fictitious spaces, heterotopias, built installations, multi-dimensionality, images, reality, actuality: “in essence, it’s pictures about pictures”.

Jyrgen observes the sense and awareness of space. He layers, tests, combines and rejects different realities all together, through creating new spatial horizons where our thinking is fundamentally enlarged. Abstract forms are designed, precision engineered and subsequently experienced for real.

Born in Germany, Jyrgen studied Media Art with emphasis on Photography at Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe (HfG/ZKM) with Lois Renner and Elger Esser, and later with Jürgen Klauke at Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln. He has shown in several solo and group exhibitions throughout Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Korea, Italy, France, as well as held workshops and lectures at the Kunstakademie Nürnberg and Musée de l'Elysée Lausanne. He is currently working at ZHdK.
